It only makes sense that when you shop for your baby’s crib, you’ll be looking for bedding, too. Most baby bedding sets include a number of pieces – but do you really need them all? But young babies are not able to roll over, so if you put them to bed on their backs, they’ll stay on their backs. And by the time they are able to roll onto their tummies, SIDS is no longer such a serious concern. Since foam is a soft material, these wedges could do more harm than good, by contributing to suffocation risks.

Some of the items in a bedding set may not even be bedding – window valances or diaper stackers, for example. These can make the nursery look great, but aren’t necessary if you’re on a budget.

But most parents are going to want a bedding set anyway, just for the look of the nursery. In this case, try gender neutral baby bedding like Versailles Black and White baby bedding. It’s much more cost effective because you can use it again and again, regardless of the sex of your next baby.
